WELCOME!
Welcome to Classic Elements - a hybrid shop! We are an independent bookstore, a coffee shop, and a unique gift shop all in one. We (Michele and Jen) wanted to bring to Johnstown an experience that feels like family. We want you to come visit with friends and sit in our window seats, or sit in our computer lounge on our comfortable chairs. Wi-Fi is free for customers! We are avid readers and would love to talk to you about our book selections, to offer advice, or to help you find that perfect gift for someone special that you can find nowhere else.
We have been friends for many years - about 15 prior to opening the shop. We have decided to live and raise families in Johnstown and because of that, we want Johnstown to be all that it can be - and would love to see it become the town that it used to be! We’ve taken a risk by opening our shop downtown, but don’t want to be anywhere else. Our idea took shape while having dinner one night with our husbands at Balance - now just a block away from our own shop. We look forward to the day that there is live theater downtown again, plenty of shopping and restaurants, and people in the streets. We KNOW that we will get there!
Michele (right in the picture) was most recently Managing Director of Business Operations at Enterprise Ventures Corporation (part of CTC). She has her BA in English from George Mason University and an MBA from St. Francis University - both of which have come in quite handy in creating our dream.
Jen (left in the picture) most recently worked for Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies and has a background and a BS in Accounting from IUP. Her background has also come in extremely handy in this endeavor.
